Timex Expedition time stopped working after battery change.

Good afternoon. I offered to swap a battery in my brothers watch. It worked fine for a few minutes then stopped. Indiglo and chrono still functions fine.Any suggestions would be appreciated.I also posted in affordables but interestingly find no Timex forum?Thanks.
