Feb 7, 2019 · I run VirtualBox 6.1.18 on a Windows 10 i3 3rd Gen Probook and on Debian Buster guest with LXDE, glxgears show ~600 fps with VBoxVGA without 3D acceleration enabled, VMSVGA only ~500 fps. When enabling 3d acceleration, which is not really supported by that HD Graphics 4000, both become much slower, ~190 and ~170 fps, VBoxVGA still being faster.

May 10, 2014 · Without the successful installation of guest additions, VirtualBox does not re-adjust guest resolution automatically, so graphics inside VM may look grainy/broken on bigger screen. NOTE: I have VirtualBox 4.3.10 and Ubuntu 14.04 amd64 and guest additions don't work properly on it for me too, so I assume I will have to wait for next VBox version.
