Mar 4, 2021 · Well Thomas is based on an e2, but wilbert awdry wanted him to look more like a jinty and so he is what he is. The main reason Thomas is more commonly seen as an E2 is his extended side tanks, a feature only present on the latter 5 E2s. He does have the splashers seen on a Jinty but I always just figured those were a later add-on.
