This course, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Online Training, was developed for qualified individuals as part of a didactic training to become a trained sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) in West Virginia.

This hybrid online/in-person adult/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) didactic training program is geared toward the Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse planning on practicing in the role of SANE.

This 40 hour Adult/Adolescent Didactic SANE-A Course provides SANE the foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to provide holistic, comprehensive care to adult and adolescent patients that have experienced sexual assault.

The 2023 UofL Health SANE training for interested RNs will be April 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28th. It is a 5-day, 40-hour, in-person training. Applications are now being accepted! If applications exceed space, preference is given to UofL Health employees. The course is free to UofL Health employees and is $250 to others.

This online pediatric/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) didactic training program is geared toward the Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse planning on practicing in the role of pediatric SANE.

This adult/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) clinical simulation training program is geared toward the Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse planning on practicing in the role of SANE.

Priority for registration will go to employees of Providence St. Mary Medical Center, followed by regional nurses employed by facilities actively offering Forensic Nursing exams, then to nurses employed by Washington State SANE programs or Washington State hospitals who will be conducting SANE exams.

This is a 5-day, 40-hour training consisting of 2 days of self-scheduled online material that must be completed prior to the 3-Day In-Person portion on October 7-9, 2024. All 5 days must be completed to receive CNE credit.
