May 29, 2022 · People here don't seem to be getting the joke. This radio has a GSM slot for 4G. So they stuck a "Nokia" sticker on it, because Nokia is known for making cell phones. It's not a Nokia. It's likely a Tydera F14 or HamGeek G6. They are the same radios with a different sticker. They are 70 cm radios with 2/3/4G coverage on GSM networks as well.

Dec 9, 2021 · There are several on eBay, which you can find by searching "Walkie Talkie 5000KM". It says they are 4G, 10W, 400-470Mhz, with a 5000KM "range". It has a SIM card, so maybe it actually is 4G? But that frequency is ISM band (Europe). So is it a hybrid? Are ISM band walkie talkies a real thing?

Even then, 60 miles range is really stretching it unless you live near mountains. You can do what you are talking about using lower HF and lower wire antennas. Sep 8, 2022 · It was basically just an always on conference line with push to talk buttons. You had to be on a Nextel or compatible network and with a compatible phone. The idea was it was a walkie-talkie that could work over a cellular network, so you just had to be in range of a network tower. It worked wherever that network's cellphones worked.
