I use occasionally a program which needs these function keys (not for hardware control): The last time I used it, those keys functioned correctly. Now no longer, they only control the hardware; the program seem not to be able using them.

Dec 20, 2024 · Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try using the on-screen keyboard on Windows 10 and see if the Fn key works. Refer the article Use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) to type . You may also want to check if the F Lock key is toggled on the keyboard. If it is On then try switching it Off and see if the Fn key works.

Oct 3, 2013 · The Alt F9 shortcut - ViewFieldCodes is not working in Word. I have reset the keyboard shortcuts within Word even though the ViewFieldCodes was showing ALT F9 as the shortcut keys. Both Alt and the F9 key work for other shortcuts e.g. Alt F11 works and Shift F9 works. It just appears to be the combination of ALT + F9 key that doesn't.
