Jul 31, 2020 · I could not connect the Gear VR controller through Bluetooth.) However, VR Browser does not show media in 360. Gizmo VR Video Player handles it well. It goes well with Youtube too. Even easier: Google VR Services is enough if you find a VR video on the web that you wish to view.

Install NetGuard from the Playstore. Download the plugin in the post above. Start the update until it fails. Turn off wifi and data. Install the downloaded plugin I blocked all Oculus and Samsung VR stuff in NetGuard, 13 apps, probably it's not necessary to block all.

There is not much research to be found around the topic. I have all the .apk files for the needed services/apps, and the gear VR service is still there (v 3.9.01.1), unfortunately, developer option is not accessible. I did notice that gear vr service 3.9.01.1 and 3.9.00.4 are only a few KB large, while 3.2.03.15 and lower are 4-7MB in size.

Tying this back to the OP, I am hoping the Samsung X Google headset caters more to the PCVR crowd with OLED and Display port and better Wifi-link, while forgoing the Apple Vision Pro's front screen and eye tracking (but including passthrough better than Q3) in order to be more affordable, closer to the Quest 3 in price.

I'm trying to use my gear vr with an S9+ I follow every step from gearvr.net and I get every tick blue except for the Samsung gallery's one, so it doesn't automatically boot into Oculus home app and everything. I updated the Samsung gallery from the galaxy store and even tried to update it from APKmirror but the installation failed.

Jan 17, 2021 · Samsung have updated their mobile OS, even for their older model phones (S8/S10 series...etc) to now be incompatible with the Gear VR Headset/Software. My daughter used to enjoy the rollercoaster games..etc but now since the update, and the fact you are unable to roll-back the OS, its made my old phones, and the headset useless for this purpose.

Dec 21, 2020 · I don't know if anything changed, but back in the day you definitely didn't need a SIM card. People were buying cheap used ex shop demo phones and using for Gear VR and they didn't even have a mobile radio in them, just wifi.
