Oct 6, 2024 · I usually take my time in horror games like it took me more than 20 hours to beat Resident Evil 4 Remake on my first playthrough and around 13 hours for Resident Evil Village. I'll get Silent Hill 2 Remake eventually, some of the characters not looking too good doesn't bother me much since I'm on PC so I got Nexus Mods for that anyway.

Oct 4, 2024 · Resident Evil is on the action side of horror. Your character is supposed to be equipped and trained to kick ass. Silent Hill is on the psychological side of Horror. You character is supposed to be an everyday individual who is not trained for combat, makes do with whatever is around to kill monsters.

I'm not counting reboots, of which there are many great ones. The ones I'm most excited for are Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia.

Oct 12, 2024 · This goes to show how big of a part audio plays and the general pace of combat against exploring. Their biggest mistake was the way it was cut and layered with additional ambience and then music, overpowering the sounds of actual combat. The mix is just bad, like how the gun sounds here vs how it sounds in the game.

Oct 4, 2024 · The Silent Hill series ranks #2 to Resident Evil IMO. Different kinds of horror experiences tho. Silent Hill is wayyyy more unsettling than Resident Evil. It gets under your skin. Bought a PS1 for Resident Evil back in 96. Played it a billion times. Rented Silent Hill 1 at blockbuster and it blew me away, ended up buying a copy.
