Will energizer 2032 batteries work for a 2016 key fob?
Jan 12, 2024 · Both 2025 and 2032 are 3v batteries. If the FOB takes 1 battery then the 2032 will fit without issue, and cause no problems with functionality. If the FOB takes 2 batteries, then it is possible that they will fit, but it may be a little more difficult to get the FOB closed. I have a Focus that takes 1 battery, and an explorer that takes 2.

Aug 6, 2023 · I would test the batteries on the fob to make sure they are good. Sometimes even new batteries can be discharged in the package. Also make sure the batteries are in the correct orientation in the fob. Since the car recognizes the fob while it's in the emergency fob reader spot, seems like a key fob power issue to me.

Aug 25, 2023 · Unfortunately after all of that, I was unable to unlock my car. I believe the mechanic i called at my local dealership told me it doesn't have to be repogrammed. If it does it would be bad news considering the secret master key is lost. After the battery replacement, my key fob is blinking red exactly like in the video.

Jan 5, 2024 · And putting the key up to the steering column in the slot would bypass a proximity key issue and use the RFID excited by the that spot. Remote starting it might help narrow down something, from fob or FordPass app. I would guess there is some wiring issues, either a connector that is questionable, a relay or fuse, the battery cable or ends.

Jul 25, 2020 · The fob is bad you need a new one it has an internal draw. I have replaced several because of this. One of the worst ones would kill a battery in 2 days. Moisture or dropping the fob or almost anything could have damaged the circuit bored causing the damage but in short you just need a new one or carry extra batteries.
