Apr 25, 2021 · Found this post from googling this issue. Having the same problem. My computer has been crashing randomly the last few weeks. Thought I had a virus or hardware issues until I saw in event viewer, that windows keeps running out memory. Presentmon_x64.exe is using over 25GB of RAM when this happens (out of my 32 GB total).

Aug 18, 2023 · Thanks for sharing your findings. It's pretty damning if even the Windows Task Manager does a markedly better job than Adrenalin. That's probably an understatement since, as I found out via other helpful Redditors here, the Adrenalin overlay may as well be broken. I'm just glad it's not something wrong with my system.

Task Manager for some reason doesn't show all RAM usage in the process list. If you want to see that, check out RamMap. 57% of memory used isn't bad though, that's about what you'd expect watching youtube videos and browsing the internet. If something needs to use a lot of RAM, windows will move more stuff out of RAM to make room for it.

Aug 30, 2023 · I just tried it, this app seems to struggle to detect my game. In the beginning, none of my games show this overlay, I have to launch the game first minimize it, and then start the PresentMon program to sometimes get the overlay working. And many times, the overlay just get stuck below my game and render as an underlay.

Wow. Experienced this exact same issue today. Was after coming back to my PC after idle, but not come back from sleep. AMD 5800X. RTX 4090. ~10-15% CPU being taken by PresentMon then Nvidia Container but can't remember the order I killed them in. I also have the Beta Nvidia app installed. Which Im betting is the culprit.

Uninstall "NVIDIA FrameView SDK" (will be in Windows "add or remove programs") Uninstalling FrameView SDK will prevent PresentMon_x64.exe, NVRLA.exe, and nvfvsdksvc_x64.exe from running in the background. or 2.) Task Manger > Services tab and disable the FrameView service from starting up automatically.

Feb 9, 2022 · Definitely not running a HyperV virtual machine? Or setup a development environment such as Windows Subsystem for Linux, which uses hyperv as a backend? Hyperv usage mostly does not show in task manager. Before going down the route of memory leak or otherwise, check for 'Hyper-V Manager' in Windows Search and confirm if that is the case or not.
