Sep 30, 2020 · Although now there's an issue that many of the examples of ODSTs you bring up predate the entire Mark V platform. I suppose the Mark V ODST armor was a new variation of the already standard ODST combat gear, and some features of the MJOLNIR stuff would receive widespread usage among ODSTs later.

The ODST armor on the Mark Vb is built to Mjolnir standards, which basically means it's a titanium-A plated armor slapped onto the Mjolnir's undersuit in the shape of ODST armor. All Mark Vb armor attachments are considered up armor, meaning it goes on top of the existing armor. The helmet itself is an ODST helmet made to Mark Vb standards.

Jan 26, 2024 · 343’s ODST helmet design is honestly pretty crap. 343 messed up a lot of older armor by “rounding” otherwise angled armor pieces. They tweaked it quite a bit in each game, 4 being the worst imo, and only now in Infinite is it somewhat more akin to older styles like 3.

Halo 3 and Reach ODSTs are tied for best. Both are great but Halo 3 ODST is just so iconic. Both look so much better than Rakshasa too, I'd like a Halo 3 ODST core at some point. I'd imagine by the time of Halo infinite, it'd be pretty feasible to develop a more advanced ODST armor with a shield generator for a fraction of the cost of Mjolnir.
