Back when I was using Excel 2016, the template was located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\VFS\Windows\SHELLNEW. Now the folder doesn't exist.

Feb 2, 2018 · I have a problem with the Office365 here: everyday I use "Right-mouse click > New > New Microsoft Excel Worksheet" to create a new Excel file on my desktop, but today the option of Excel has been disappeared...everything else (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access...) still be there and working normally.
New Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object increases file size
I subsequently updated the Excel workbook, then copy/pasted the updated Worksheet Objects into the Word document. It is now 23.5 MBytes - almost 4 times the size. I horsed around with removing the Worksheet Objects, and it appears that the (new) ones cause the file size expansion - about 6MBytes per object.
