Gummy Shifting - Adventure Rider
Feb 2, 2010 · I would describe it as "gummy" to the point of almost being painful to shift it with boots on. I changed the oil 500 miles ago and that seemed to help a bit, but I find it hard to believe that the oil would wear out at 500 miles and result in the difficult shifting again.

Aug 9, 2020 · I had a similar issue a while back - wouldn't downshift. I did find out however, that these machines can start out from a dead stop in 4th if necessary. Turned out the pedal was all gummy. Took apart and cleaned, new grease, solved. FYI

Jun 1, 2023 · My '09 Buell 1125cr motorcycle (liquid cooled, wet clutch, Rotax manufactured engine - not Harley engine) is balky shifting, particularly finding neutral. It's very notchy and requires a lot more lever force to change gears than it used to.
