Farquharson Action Kits - Shooters Forum
May 26, 2004 · New Farquharson action kits just received and ready to finish fitting and barreling. I talked to Leonard Bull a retired instructor at TSJC , Trinidad and he has gotten the 1897 Model Westly Richards copy of the Farquharson kits from the casting company. These are investment castings of 8620 steel and will be good for engraving and color hardening.

May 26, 2024 · After finishing my 1899 Remington-Lee, I started looking for another project rifle to keep me busy and out of trouble. I spent a lot of time looking online at antique/ vintage rifles. Eventually, I started to focus on single shot rifles. My dream rifle would be something with a Farquharson action but they sell for crazy money.

Feb 27, 2021 · I have a 1947 falling block rifle with a Jeffery action.It was built by Pfiefer,Monty Kennedy made stock,and Arnold Griebel did the metal engraving.Its a 348 winchester necked down to a 270.Shot it a few times but been sitting in a gun case for 30 some years,it’s brand new.Need to re home it but hard to put a price on it since I can’t find anything to complain it …

May 18, 2009 · The two that where actually used in the production of QDU Tom returned to Shiloh Rifle Company where they where completely refurbished, the one fitted with the aluminium barrel was refitted with it's original steel barrel. I have always liked single shot falling block rifles. the 1874 Sharpes and the English Farquharson are my two fantasy rifles.

Mar 19, 2021 · The higher grade Westley Richards rook rifles were miniature Farquharson's, take-down, fully engraved, best quality at 12 pounds 12. A best quality side by side, side-lock ejector shotgun sold for about 60 pounds to 75 depending on decoration, cases, single triggers, etc. (Current US market value about $35K.)

Jun 6, 2023 · It sold for just over $22K at auction. I hope Clayton is still alive. I met him first in the '70s at the Houston gun show. He was delivering a rifle to my boss and I was in awe. He has done some very high quality work but always stuck in big bore land with only a few 'light rifles' made. Clayton Nelson loved to build one of a kinds.

Dec 23, 2005 · I think Kilmer (Patterson) was using a Lee-Speed 303 bolt action. The big single shot rifle was a Farquharson, do not know what it was chambered for. Douglas's double rifle looks like an sidelock H&H, but don't know for sure.

Oct 29, 2024 · I have hunted alot over the years with slugs. Pretty much like a rifle, you have to find the ones that shoot best. For my slug gun, a 870 12 Guage and use a 21 inch barrel with a rifled choke tube. Winchester 2 3/4 inch one ounce slugs shoot the best and fastest. I had it scoped sometimes but the open sights worked fine.

Can an M1A1 be used for 1000 yard shooting? | Shooters Forum
Nov 24, 2024 · I have some WW2 rifle targets, it don’t take many to paper a wall. There are many cartridges capable of 1000 yds. There aren’t many off the rack rifles capable of shooting 1000yd groups even under labratory conditions. My experience with M14 was shooting on the pop up ranges for M16s at White Sands. We did no target shooting.
