Dec 16, 2008 · I'm trying to learn some useful keyboard commands, but have difficulty with the F (function) keys at the top of the keyboard. For instance, when I press F9 to insert a clip from the viewer to the timeline the result is that the desktop open windows are shown. Other desktop actions occur with F10, 11 and 12, and the other F keys have no effect.

Nov 29, 2017 · I have a new iPad Pro 10.5 with Smart Keyboard. I have apps that use the F1-F12 keys. When I hit the globe keyboard key, only Emoji's are provided. There needs to be a pop-up row of F1-F12 function keys to make this a complete keyboard solution. Apple please make the F1-F12 keys available. I'm using the US English keyboard (defaults). Thanks. Oct 10, 2010 · F7-F9 as Media keys in fact control iTunes. Nate was right, you can decide whether those keys funtion as F-keys or Media keys: Go to the Keyboard tab of the Keyboard Pane. Check the first check box, Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.

Aug 17, 2020 · After the recent update, the F1 to F9 function keys on my A1314 Apple Keyboard stopped working. F10 to F12 still working. I have tried 'Use as standard F1 keys' settings. Not solving the problem. I have created a new user with no apps installed, so the app short cut interference is not there. Can apple support solve this problem? Thanks!

Jun 22, 2006 · 1. on my keyboard the function keys F8, F9, F10 did light up and dim the keyboard keys, these no longer work. when you press F8 it brings up the superimposed rounded corner square or but it has a white no entry symbol at the bottom indicating its not on or activated. F9 and F10 behave the same. i would like to restore these keys functions, how?
