Registering an AncestryDNA® Kit
To stop getting texts from Ancestry, reply STOP. To receive emails about new DNA information and relatives, check the box next to Notify me when new information and relatives are discovered based on my DNA. Check the status of your DNA kit anytime by clicking the DNA tab at the top of any Ancestry page and selecting Your DNA Results Summary.
AncestryDNA® Registration Troubleshooting
If you share an email address with someone and they already used it for Ancestry, make a new email address for free and use that to create your Ancestry account. Registration problems. Registration code doesn’t work. If your registration code has more or less than 15 characters, make sure your DNA test is from Ancestry, not another company.
Registering an AncestryDNA® Kit for Your Child
If you want Ancestry to store your child’s sample, choose I give consent. If not, choose I do not give consent. Your choice won’t affect your child’s DNA results. In the Review section, check the information you’ve entered and make any necessary changes. Verify your consents, choose your notifications, then select Looks good, register kit
Inviting Someone to Register Their AncestryDNA® Kit
To use Ancestry, each person needs their own email address and account. If they share an email address with someone and it’s already used on Ancestry, tell them to make a new email address for free and use that to create their free Ancestry account. The recipient doesn't receive the registration invitation email
