Sep 26, 2019 · Ran the anteanna cable along the headliner, down the B-Piller, and into the bottom of the center console (power is soldered in line to the supply for the cigarette lighters in the back). Since the handset is just an RJ45 plug, I ran some CAT6 and terminated it at the switch blank where I wanted it.

Feb 7, 2013 · I recently installed a CB radio in my 4runner, and though I would do a write-up. I have seen a couple of different ways to install a CB into the ash tray of a 3rd Gen. This is what worked for me and I am well pleased with how sturdy the CB is mounted.

Feb 18, 2017 · I keep the cb radio in the glove box until I need it with the only thing left visible inside is the black plastic mic holder on the dash. I did have to extend the coax by about 5 feet but it's easy to do. This setup tuned really good and works good as well.

I had my TWSS give me a Uniden PRO 520XL cb radio for my 4runner build. The thing with these cb radios is that they fit PERFECTLY in the ashtray location on the 3rd gen 4runners.

Aug 14, 2019 · Here's two detailing the above setups. Pic 2 also shows a HAM setup which is still in use: Antennas for all my radio installs in 4Rs have always been NMO trunk lip mounts on the hood. Be aware the CB requires a very good antenna ground to keep the SWR down if you go this route. mrmike7189 and MountainMan [OP] like this. I like the console idea!

Aug 18, 2014 · I use the AUX out from my CB and plug the cable into the AUX jack by the USB jack in the center console. I set the radio in the 4Runner for AUX in and use the built in speakers. When not in use, I drop the cable between the seat and center console. No need for a separate speaker and trying to mount it somehwere. _____
