Apr 21, 2024 · I just purchased Phillips 28" 4K monitors. Windows 11 recognizes the monitors, but only offers a 1980 x 1080, 2048 x 1152 (1152 x 2048 portrait) resolution for them. Their recommended resolution is 3840 x 2160, but that resolution does nor show up in Display Settings, UPDATE: I am on an HP-Envy computer, and I was using a "Pluggable Hub".

Uptill now I was able to configure the resolution of external monitor display to 4k using display settings. But after a few updates in surface laptop 2. the max resolution option to me under display settings in 1080p and not 4k. Kindly help with this.

Here are some screenshots: This screenshot (taken in the Settings app) shows that the highest my monitor can go is 1080p. This screenshot (taken from the Intel Graphics app) shows that the highest my monitor goes is actually 4K.

You should be using the monitor's native resolution, but your graphics card (or graphics chip) needs to be able to create images with that resolution. 3,840 x 2,160 is 8,294,400 pixels, while 1,920 x 1,080 is 2,073,600 pixels. That's one-quarter, not one-half. May I ask what a pixel artist does?
