My research into the Remington 40X in 22lr have been rather fun in the last couple of weeks; sadly there are videos that I can find on youtube of the rifle in action. So, I know this can be, and is by all of my research, a very accurate rifle. But how well does it range?

This Remington Model 40-X .22 LR is in very good condition for its age. They were first in production in 1955. SN 23588B The barrel has maybe five or six small marks but no visible surface rust.

These rifles were from the first "US" contract with only a few hundred actually being manufactured before Remington switched to the later 'heavy' barreled pattern rifles.
