Jun 24, 2022 · Most modern swings have pretty severe delofting (sometimes up to 10-15*), which means delofting a 2-iron to the same degree would basically be stinger city (i.e. 3* dynamic loft). Take a look at Brooks Koepka's trackman numbers -- 30* 6-iron being de-lofted 14* to 16*.

Dec 8, 2023 · So I did not buy anything between Gen6 4 iron and G430 Max 3 wood yet. I was originally thinking of buying P790 3 iron, but people said P790 is not as forgiving as PXG Gen6. So, I'm considering G430 hybrid. But, I am not sure if I should go for 2-hybrid (17*) or 3-hybrid (19*), when PXG 4 iron has 18* of loft.

Dec 12, 2024 · Long irons (3,4,5) all have relatively the same initial launch, so bending the loft is more about getting the ball speed and spin correct. I spin the ball too much, so lowering the long irons helps knock spin off. If you're not on the higher side of spin, you'll hit an 18 and 22 3 and 4 iron shorter than if they were 20 and 23.

Nov 9, 2009 · interestingly though, i found that the 23* was the best loft to effectively replace the 3-iron, while maintaining good distance gaps between 5-wood and 4-iron. i say interestingly, because many OEM's offer their 3 hybrids as 19-21*, which i have always found go a bit further than my 3-iron distance. it depends what you're looking for.

Jan 30, 2023 · It arrived, and I rushed out to the simulator to get some shots in.. and: it was so disappointing. Carry was between 180-200. The 200 was only achieved on my purest/best strikes so practically speaking i'd say my "average" good hit was more like low 190s to 195 carry. Roll out was around 10 yards. Both of these indicate the 3 iron loft is 20 ...

Feb 14, 2021 · I currently game a 21* 3 iron in my current Z745 set with Steelfiber i95S shafts. After hearing all the hype on the hybrid irons, I got a hold of a 20* U45 with Nippon shaft. Hated the club, figured it was the shaft. Swapped it for a SF95S, but still prefer my set 3 iron. It’s a great club, but provides me no real benefit over my set 3 iron.

Feb 26, 2011 · Actually the original Eye 2 irons were pretty weak lofted in the short irons, , the first time I really noticed strong lofted irons was when Tommy Armour released the 845's and they had the lofts stamped on the toe of the club, they replace Ping as the top selling iron and the PW had 48*, they then offered a gap sand and lob wedge at 52,56 and 60*.
