Feb 25, 2024 · In May, Bishop Fernandes will ordain Deacons Tyler Carter, Daniel Colby, Jason Fox, Michael Haemmerle and David Johnstone to the priesthood. Deacons Carter, Colby, Haemmerle and Johnstone are completing their studies at the Josephinum, and Deacon Fox is completing his preparations at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Massachusetts.

The Diocese of Columbus announced a series of clergy assignments after the ordination of five priests on Saturday, May 18. The assignments include the newly ordained and four other priests that are scheduled to take place in July unless otherwise noted.

Dec 31, 2023 · The bishop ordained Deacons Tyler Carter, Jason Fox, Michael Haemmerle and David Johnstone to the diaconate on May 5 at Westerville St. Paul Church and Deacon Daniel Colby on Nov. 10 at the cathedral. He hopes to ordain them all as priests this coming May.

Deacon Jason will be ordained to the priesthood on May 18, 2024, for the Diocese of Columbus in Ohio. In early September, I found myself at the front door of St. Malaki’s Parish in Burlington, Massachusetts, a new church I had never been to and to a new pastor I had only briefly met in a meeting in the seminary library earlier that week.

It was in Columbus that his calling to the priesthood reemerged suddenly and unexpectedly. In his words, “I decided to stop fighting my true vocation and instead embraced it.” Deacon Jason is scheduled to be ordained a diocesan priest in the spring of 2024.
