Göth was executed by hanging not far from the former site of the Płaszów camp. The 1993 film Schindler's List, in which Göth is portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, depicts his running of the Płaszów concentration camp.

After the war, on July 30th, 1946, camp Commandant Amon Goth was put on trial after being arrested by the US government and turned over to Polish authority (n.d. 107). Amon Goeth went on trial for his brutal crimes at the Plaszow camp and his part in the genocide of Polish Jews (Bazyler & Tuerkheimer, 101).

After the war he was extradited to Poland at the request of the Polish authorities and tried before the Polish Supreme Court on a charge of committing mass murder during the liquidation of the ghettos at Szebnie camp and Plaszow.
