Following a recent meeting of the Elvaston Steam Rally committee the decision was taken to cancel the 2025 Rally, this being due to the year-on-year deterioration of the ground conditions of Elvaston Showground, particularly the poor drainage in key areas of the site.

Elvaston Steam Rally is held at Elvaston Castle Country Park, Derby on the B5010. Follow the BROWN signs for ‘Elvaston Castle’ from Junction 2 of the A50 or the Borrowash turn of the A52.

If you visit the rally on Saturday daytime, you are welcome to stay into the evening for the Saturday night funfair, or alternatively, you can return to the showground after 6pm, as long as your wristband is still intact.

Elvaston Steam Rally runs a free bus service to and from Derby and the surrounding area. Passengers will be picked up at normal bus stops on the route by giving the driver a signal. Special Buses will be showing "Elvaston Steam Rally" destination boards.

Our committee are saddened to announce that this year's Elvaston Steam Rally has been cancelled due to the current poor ground conditions. Last Tuesday evening the area was subjected to extremely heavy rain fall, approximately 20% of our site being affected by standing water and swamp like conditions.
