The New England Patriots will introduce Mike Vrabel as their new head coach at 12 p.m. ET on Monday, per a post on the team’s social media account.
Former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was in the Patriots’ organization with Vrabel from 2001 to 2008, is considered a candidate for the job. It would be McDaniels’ third go-around with the title.
Vrabel coached the Titans from 2018 to 2023. The Titans surprisingly fired him one year after winning the top seed in the AFC.
Vrabel was the favorite from the start of the Patriots’ search, given his relationship with owner Robert Kraft, his experience, and his coaching style. The Patriots also considered Byron Leftwich, Pep Hamilton, and Ben Johnson, but ultimately landed on the clear front-runner.
