North Carolina expands a temporary jobs program to aid 39 counties affected by Hurricane Helene, aiming to reduce unemployment and assist in recovery efforts.

North Carolina is offering more temporary jobs to help communities rebuild after Hurricane Helene. The program, which started in 25 counties, now covers 39 counties across the state.The U.S. Department of Labor is funding the program with $10 million.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — In 39 counties in North Carolina, residents can now apply for a temporary job program. The program will allow people to work on recovery efforts in areas impacted by Hurricane Helene, including much of western North Carolina. Residents will have an opportunity to provide humanitarian assistance, too.
