Special challenges Complex abdominal aortic aneurysms, such as juxtarenal, perirenal or suprarenal as well as penetrating or ruptured aneurysms, represent a particular technical challenge.
During the study period of 11 years, 480 patients (group A, n = 189, 39%; group B, n = 291, 61%) were operated on. Fifty-eight percent underwent elective surgery, and 42% underwent emergency surgery.
