The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that a case of bird flu has been detected in a wild bird in Co Donegal. The case was discovered at an undisclosed location in the county in mid-January.

Bird flu has been found in a wild bird in the Republic of Ireland, the first confirmed discovery on the island of Ireland since September 2023. The bird, a buzzard, was found in County Galway.
