It was cheap to go in , but it was reflected in the zoo unfortunately. Maybe winter isn’t the best time to visit a zoo but a lot of the animals seemed sad and lonely , which was sad to watch . Other … Full review by Lucy K

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the zoo, spending about four hours there. Great variety of animals in clean enclosures. We would have liked to find an indoor cafe but lots of outdoor options open … Full review by emmavp

The place has a quite wide array of animals and the entrance tickets are priced fairly. It is a fun activity for a few hours. But a lot of the park was run down and some of the animal enclosures were… Full review by Oliver K

I don't actually know the answer to that, sorry. When we were viewing the elephant talk and feed, the zoo keeper didn't offer the public the chance to throw the foods into the enclosure. However, visitor rules on their website state "in order to protect animal health and human health, feeding most of the animals is prohibited. However, certain animals are allowed to be fed with zoo biscuits, special fodder sold specifically for that purpose. Warning signs indicate the animals that can be fed." I can imagine the zoo biscuits are for the farm animals. Hopefully that helps!

Hi Ariadna, We have visited the Budapest ZOO several times and have always found something intriguing and learned something new. In addition, there are other activities available at the Zoo. Furthermore, you can feed the animals or observe how they feed them. You can stay a whole day, but bellow several hours (5 hours) don't count on it, and that is if you fly through the Zoo. And be sure to explore "secret" passages and all the houses. Yes, Budapest has a lot of fantastic attractions and things to offer, but the ZOO & Botanical Garden is at the top of the list for sure, regardless of age.
We were wanting to go to the zoo on thursday the 6th of august...should we book in advance...or is it easy enough to pay on the day

We went in march & was very quiet, we just paid at the gate as we wasn’t originally going to do it. But as it’s summer & with all the restrictions atm it might be easier to prebook so youve already got your tickets!
