I have attended the mercury panto for many years, Now and again they digress from the conventional panto menu and this was one of those years, not a panto but a variety show, so disappointing. Why tr… Full review by petersF5003TT

Unfortunately, my previous review was rejected as I quoted language referred to in the production that made the review unacceptable. This year's pantomime was truly a new low. Yes, pantomime is trad… Full review by conradh300

Hi, I'm thinking of booking to see the musical Oliver at the theatre in October. It will be a birthday treat for my 10 years old granddaughter and i was hoping for advice on what the best seats are to book? I assume centre stalls, but wasn't sure what rows would be best? I know with some theatre front seats you can end up having to look up and get a neck ache and i would like to try and avoid this but obviously get a good view of everything. Thanks

Hi usually when we take the children to the panto we usually book anything from D-F and we prefer to get the end seats. When we went earlier this year I think we were in F and had a fantastic view of the stage (it was 29-33 from memory and also looking at their seating plan). My youngest is 6 and she could see perfectly well. I think wherever you sit you’d get a good view but if you can, get somewhere within the areas I mentioned. Hope this helps.
Does row O have a restricted view at all? Any opinions? Thanks

This is a relatively small theatre (compared to the west end stages). There are no BAD seats per se, even the very back row is close enough for my dodgy eyes. Obviously, as with any theatre, the wings can be a little restrictive if the director hasn't considered them when setting the piece and you might find yourself looking at the back of someone's head on stage. Not usually enough of an issue to spoil a show. Never let lack of seat choice stop you going to this fab theatre.
